Extent of Jewish Involvement in the American Civil War

 

With Rabbi Karen Thomashow we will examine the American Jewish historical backdrop of the 19th Century. Through the brief exploration of wills, journals, and other extant literature from major Jewish plantation owners, community members, and politicians, we will put into context the extent of Jewish involvement in the American Civil War. 

 

Dr. Yonatan Eyal, an historian of 19th century America, will be present to fill-in broader historical facts surrounding the war.
